Working from home has had it’s challenges but it has also included some really great family time. Lots of baking, crafts, bike rides, and dreaming of projects and areas of our home that I’d like to update/change (hazards of a designer working from home!). My list of projects to complete just continues to get longer! And now it includes interior and exterior. Do you have any projects on the go?

I thought I would share some of the designers and DIY experts I’ve been following for awhile. Each of them brings a different style but all incredibly inspiring. Hopefully they can bring some inspiration to your day!

  • Amber Lewis of Amber Interiors is an incredible designer. Her new home, that she designed meticulously, is absolutely stunning. She has a beautiful way of mixing materials that give an old world feel, and gives it fresh perspective with modern touches. These floors mixed with theare absolutely incredible. And I love the white brick touch in the kitchen. There’s actually nothing about her work that isn’t completely inspiring and beautiful.

  • Chris and Julia Marcum of Chris Loves Julia, have an amazing ability to turn any home into something extraordinary. Currently they are renovating the home they recently purchased and everything so far has been absolutely stunning. This dining room is one example! I love absolutely everything in this dining room and dream of having a space large enough to accommodate two full dining tables. The rustic style tables mixed with checkered tile flooring mixed with the oversized pendants is a showstopping combination. And once you add in the extra details of a two-sided fireplace, black doors, coloured trim it’s just simply amazing.

  • Studio McGee has a beautiful way of mixing materials and textures. Their own living room is the perfect example. I love how she utilizes so many different elements into her design. Wood, fabric, leather, metal, brass, black, it’s all here and it’s all beautiful. Mixing materials can be an art, and she is definitely one of the best. If you follow them along on Instagram @studiomcgee they have been sharing webisodes of their new build home and it’s been so inspiring to watch and see their process. I’ve absolutely loved it!

  • Jenni Yolo, from I Spy DIY, has a beautiful perspective on projects. Her motto is “Embracing PROCESS over perfection, one DIY at a time.” And I love that. The DIY projects that her and her husband complete are absolutely beautiful, plus they show you how to do it yourself! If you are a DIY-er this is the perfect couple to follow along with. She is not afraid to mix colour and pattern which is so refreshing and inspiring to see.

  • And I gained inspiration from I Spy DIY for my own backyard project! This shed had me re-evaluate my original plan to tear down our current shed and rebuild, to giving ours a major facelift…and I’m so excited. We have the same shape and I can’t wait to work on giving it a fresh new vibe because it desperately needs it! And this is the perfect time to be dreaming of exterior projects. My list is long….how about yours? I’m excited to share with you what we get done this spring/summer.

Cheers to a new month!
